Mission Statement

Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (FAPD) works with the leadership, faculty and administrators of the Perelman School of Medicine and the Health System to support an overarching goal of PENN Medicine - the implementation of the highest standards of excellence in academic medicine.  The mission of FAPD is to support this goal by facilitating the recruitment and appointment, promotion, and retention of distinguished faculty. Read more

Darren R. Linkin, MD, MSCE 

Associate Professor of Medicine—Clinician-Educator

Dr. Linkin is a leader in the assessment of the impact of multi-drug-resistant organisms (MDROs) and their control. He makes substantial contributions in his administrative roles at the VAMC and at HUP in the important area of preparedness for outbreaks of infectious diseases and potential emerging threats. He has a history of funding for his research, primarily from federal sources. He lists peer-reviewed publications in specialty infectious disease/ epidemiology journals such as Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology and Clinical Infectious Diseases. He is a reviewer for Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology and the Annals of Internal Medicine. Dr. Linkin is a dedicated teacher and mentor of medical students and trainees. In 2012, he received the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award for the infectious disease division.
