Timothy R. Rebbeck, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology
Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB)

Timothy Rebbeck, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, a Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB), a member of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center, and a Fellow of The Institute on Aging. Dr. Rebbeck's primary research interest is in the area of molecular and genetic epidemiology of common cancers. His research focuses on studies of breast, prostate, and melanoma skin cancers. The goal of this research is to identify genes involved in the etiology of these cancers, and to identify interactions of these genes with endogenous or exogenous exposures. These studies use a multidisciplinary approach that combines methods from epidemiology, statistics, molecular biology, and classical genetics. He directs a laboratory for molecular epidemiology, that is geared toward the generation of molecular biomarker data for family and epidemiological studies. More information about genetic and molecular epidemiology of cancer, as well as additional details of Dr. Rebbeck's research, can be found on the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Home Page.
