Seminars: Clinical Trials Brown Bag Seminar Series

Clinical Trials Brown Bag Seminar Series

University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine
Reunion Hall Auditorium
John Morgan Building, 3620 Hamilton Walk
12:00p - 1:00p

This seminar series will focus on practical problems that can arise in clinical trials. Dr. James Lewis will begin each session with a brief description of a real issue that had to be addressed in a recently completed clinical trial. Dr. Susan Ellenberg will follow with comments on the general principles that are applicable to the issue at hand. The majority of the seminar will focus on a discussion of potential approaches that could have been utilized, with attention to the advantages and disadvantages of each. Dr. Lewis will conclude by describing the actual action taken by the study team, how it worked out, and whether any of the alternative suggestions arising in the discussion may have been more effective.
