Biostatistics Analysis Center Support for Pilot Projects and Unfunded Analyses
Overview
Some statistical analysis and programming services are available for qualifying faculty and fellows who have no access to financial resources to support the initial consultation and limited analyses. These services are provided through funds allocated by the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), and are generally estimated to take 20 hours or less. CTSA-funded services for larger projects are possible, but do require the approval of the CCEB director.
Examples of typical projects that are approved for CTSA funding include:
- Analysis of pilot data for a grant submission
- Simple analyses of data for a meeting abstract
- Analyses necessary to estimate the sample size for a research project.
Getting Started
To request support for unfunded analyses, please complete the BECC Collaboration Request Form, indicate that your project is not funded and clearly describe the scope and purpose of your request. In order to qualify for CTSA support, you must be a member of the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT). You can access the ITMAT member request form here: http://www.itmat.upenn.edu/membership.shtml.
If you have questions, please feel free to raise them when you are contacted by the BECC Triage Manager about your collaboration request. You may also contact us directly.
We encourage you to review our tips for working effectively with the BAC before or during your first meeting with the BAC staff member(s) assigned to work with you.
