Outcomes Measurement Methods Core Background and Overview

Background

The Outcomes Measurement Methods Core (OMMC) was launched by the CCEB in January 2007, with a mission to provide members of the CCEB research community with collaboration, education, and consultation in the selection and development of measurement tools for translational and clinical research projects. The OMMC is overseen by Faculty Director John Farrar, MD, PhD and Karen Glanz, PhD, MPH, and staffed by Karyn Tappe, PhD. OMMC project triage, tracking, contracting, and invoicing have been integrated into existing BECC functions.

Overview

Expertise provided by the OMMC is in the selection and development of measurement tools, identification of existing standardized tools, and scoring and interpreting resulting measures. The OMMC also contributes to grant proposal development by writing sections to describe measurement tools and data collection procedures.
