Description of Research Expertise

180 Viral pathogenesis in horses. Specifically, my research program is focusing on recently discovered liver viruses in equids including Equine parvovirus-hepatitis, Equine hepacivirus, and Equid hepadnavirus. We are characterizing the routes of transmission, disease associations, and pathogenesis of each virus with a goal to develop treatment and prevention approaches.
