About the Center for Resuscitation Science
The Center for Resuscitation Science at the University of Pennsylvania was established in 2006 with a founding mission of improving survival from cardiac arrest. Under the leadership of John Greenwood, MD, the Center for Resuscitation Science continues with a focus on cutting-edge research, community outreach, and professional education.
Our team of researchers, clinicians, and collaborators span various fields, including Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery, Trauma, Critical Care, Nursing, Neuroscience, Mechanical Engineering, Epidemiology, and Health Policy. To accomplish our goals, we also partner with patient organizations and industry leaders, uniting in the pursuit of discovery and implementation. Our research covers a wide spectrum, ranging from basic science and translational models to clinical trials, epidemiology, and health policy.
We are proud to receive support from a diverse range of partners, including the American Heart Association, the National Institutes of Health, the Medtronic Foundation, the Zoll Foundation, the Philadelphia Eagles, Independence Blue Cross, and other philanthropic partners.
