Bio statement
Rachel Laadi Sulla, a Ghanaian medical doctor, has vast experience in both rural and urban healthcare settings. In October 2022, she led a team that screened and educated over 200 women for breast cancer in Ghana's Bono region. Rachel currently works at KNUST-IVI Collaborative Center on a multinational multi-center study focusing on the epidemiological and economic impact of typhoid in Africa. Rachel also attended the Implementation Science course hosted by the Penn Implementation Science Institute and will be using the skills acquired to conduct research that will contribute to improved health outcomes for individuals living with NCDs in LMICs.
Recent global health projects
I am currently involved in the Severe Typhoid in Africa (SETA) plus study, a multi-center study in 5 sub-Saharan African countries looking at the epidemiological and economic impact of typhoid. The study's data will guide the adoption of typhoid conjugate vaccines in Africa and beyond.
