BIO STATEMENT
Dr. Tierradentro is a radiology resident at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born and raised in Neiva, Colombia, he completed his medical training at Universidad del Rosario. Dr. Tierradentro also worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in pediatric imaging at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia before starting his training in clinical radiology.
He is interested in addressing healthcare disparities and advancing access to medical imaging locally and globally, especially in the pediatric population.
Recent Global Health Projects
Neuroimaging in pediatric cerebral malaria: in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi, we characterized patterns of cortical edema on brain MRI and determined associations with clinical outcomes.
Building Connections Across the Americas: I received the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Across the Americas Travel Award to attend conferences in Chicago, Quito, and Sao Paulo focused on access, safety and equity in radiology care.
