Description: The Penn Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness provides psychiatric and psychological care to individuals presenting with clinical concerns in the context of female reproductive health events including, but not limited to menarche, PMDD, infertility, conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and peri/menopause. Postdoctoral Fellows will receive training, education, clinical experience, and supervision in the delivery of evidence-based therapies relevant to these specific topics. Postdoctoral Fellows will provide therapy for adult outpatients at the Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness who present with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, interpersonal problems, general life stressors, and other clinical problems. Postdoctoral Fellows may also have the option of co-leading or leading group therapy. The Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness has a partnership with a hospital-based women’s health clinic which may allow for provision of co-located care. Additional relationships with the Department of Family Medicine, and Department of Ob/Gyn’s division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility allow for collaboration with providers in other disciplines and care of patients with perinatal substance abuse disorders and/or those seeking evaluation for third party reproductive assistance. Patients at the Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness are typically 18 years of age and older, representing a diversity of ethnicities, identities, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities: On average, Clinical postdoctoral Fellows who are full-time at the Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness will spend 26 hours delivering clinical care, both on-site and via remote telehealth (half-time Fellows will spend 13 hours directly seeing patients). The remaining time will be dedicated towards supervision, education, and administrative duties. As a Penn Psychiatry Fellow, there will be opportunities to participate in department didactics and attend Grand Rounds seminars.
