Welcome to SPO
Space Planning & Operations (SPO) works with Penn Medicine leadership and building occupants to plan and administer use of the Perelman School of Medicine's physical resources. We provide building operations and support services that enable and enhance the School of Medicine's mission. SPO comprises seven work groups responsible for the services below.
► Department Administration & Distribution Services | 215-898-2876 | staff
Department administration of personnel and financial activity. Distribution services such as shipping and receiving, small move jobs, biohazardous/infectious waste removal, research alcohol distribution, and more.
► Design & Construction | 215-898-2876 | staff
Represents PSOM by providing project management support of new, renovation, and infrastructure renewal design and construction projects, equipment installation, and move coordination.
► Facilities & Capital Planning | 215-898-2876 | staff
Capital project planning, space needs assessments and floor plan layouts, preliminary project scope development, furniture consulting, space inventory, off-campus space management, and sustainability.
► Operations & Engineering | 215-898-8760 | staff
Administration and coordination of day-to-day facilities operations: housekeeping, maintenance, building systems, utilities, minor construction services and general work requests, as well as signage, key requests, and emergencies.

Emergencies, emergency preparedness, PSOM Ready, lockouts/keys, TRL shuttle services, property removal, parking/security, and related services.

► Scheduling & Event Services | 215-573-5555 | staff
Responsible for scheduling process, service coordination, and management of the PSOM centrally scheduled spaces. Uses the EMS Enterprise Scheduling System to provide Penn Medicine access to classroom and meeting space in support of the academic, research, and clinical mission.
